Thoughts and Lessons from 2023

This year brought many new exciting changes into our lives and also required the most effort and focus. These periods of time are important to reflect on what we learned, what went well, and where we can adjust for the next year. Also, don’t forget to pat yourself on the back for your progress made over the last year. Try it really quick to tell yourself that you’re proud of three things you did in the last year. This can help us practice gratitude and also get away from the comparison game. Here is my recap of 2023.

  • Constancy over Intensity. Do things well for a longer period of time so they can gain traction.

  • Mental breaks are important.

  • Reach out for help. No matter where you are, you can improve. Getting help puts you on the fast track.

  • You make time for what’s important or you’ll make time to fix it. No negotiations.

  • Kindness pays bigger dividends than being rude.

  • When you’re stuck, go on a walk. No phone.

  • Smile, it can change someone’s day.

  • Your health costs more every day you’re alive. Put resources into it.

  • Today’s decisions = tomorrow’s outcomes. Slowly everything compounds.

  • You’re not failing, you need more time.

  • Money is a metric, not THE metric.

  • Be your authentic self. The more authentic you are, the more you’ll enjoy every interaction.

  • Schedule everything.

  • Have your team in place, let them guide you.

  • Strength is the most important. It drives everything else and when you lose it, life quality decreases.

  • Reduce wants, enjoy what’s present.

  • Write goals, monitor them, evaluate, and adjust as needed. Goals written down and put aside are a waste of time.
