One of the most common questions we get is about training plan design. Traditionally what had been used were body part specific training routines with the goals of hypertrophy(muscle growth) and aesthetics(looks). Often, people are surprised when we describe our training routines as full body workouts. If the goal is purely physique based in training, then body part split routines might be the best option for you. Outside of that, they don’t provide the benefit and function of full body training. In simple terms, there is no daily task that people have to perform that only uses a section of their body. Train to enhance your life! Full-body workouts offer a range of benefits that can enhance your fitness journey. Here are some key advantages:
- Lower Time Commitment: Full-body workout programs require fewer days at the gym compared to other split routines. With just two to three sessions per week, you’ll have more time for other obligations in your life1.
- Increased Muscular Recovery Rates: Since full-body workouts provide at least one day of rest between each session, your muscles get ample recovery time. This can lead to better progress and prevent burnout1.
- Greater Allowance for Other Activities: With fewer gym days, you’ll have more flexibility for additional sports or cardio training. You won’t be forced into double-day sessions, as is often the case with higher-frequency lifting schedules1.
- Larger Weekly Testosterone Boosts: Full-body movements engage multiple muscle fibers, leading to greater testosterone release. Adequate testosterone levels are crucial for lean muscle mass development1.
Remember, to get the most benefit out of any exercise routine, there are a few things needed to maximize their efficiency:
- Proper technique. This will ensure the correct muscles are being used.
- Proper loading. Not too light or too heavy.
- Proper warm up. This makes all muscles and systems more efficient during the session.
- Focus. Disconnect from your phone and social media and put your focus into the training. This will make you more aware and able of your own training.
